NEWARK, N.J., July 17 (Nationwide Times) — Panasonic has recalled about 11,480 electric toaster ovens in the United States and 2,184 in Canada after regulators said a protective fiberglass sleeve may not fully cover the power cord, creating shock and fire hazards.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said the recall covers Panasonic model NB-G200 ovens, stainless steel units with the temperature knob on the bottom and the Panasonic name on the front. The agency said the appliances were sold online at Amazon.com, Costco.com, Panasonic.com and other platforms nationwide from October 2024 through April 2026 for about $170 each.

The commission said it had received four consumer reports of tripped circuit breakers or outlets and one report that the product stopped working. No fires or injuries have been reported.

The CPSC identified Panasonic Corporation of North America as the importer and Panasonic Manufacturing (Xiamen) Co., Ltd. as the manufacturer. Panasonic’s Costco member notice said Costco records show some members bought Item #2024930 between February 2026 and April 2026.

The notice told consumers to stop using the toaster ovens immediately and said they could return the product to Panasonic for a refund or take it to a Costco Warehouse Customer Service Window for a full refund.
