VICTORVILLE, Calif., July 17 (High Desert News Online) — Costco food courts at several California warehouses have started serving a new chicken strips order, with workers and menu signs showing a $6.99 meal of five strips, a dipping sauce and a calorie count that ranges from 1,130 to 1,640.

Employees at Costco locations in Alhambra, Los Feliz, Bakersfield, Santa Rosa and Concord said the item appeared in July. One Santa Rosa worker said the strips arrived July 6, and a Concord worker said they had been on the menu for a few days by July 15.

At the stores checked, menu boards showed the chicken strips replacing the calzone. The item has been described in different locations as chicken tenders, chicken strips or crispy chicken strips.

In Victorville, the Costco warehouse at 14555 Valley Center Drive also listed the new item at $6.99, according to local reporting that cited the store menu. The California rollout has been seen in markets including Los Angeles County, the Bay Area, Bakersfield and the High Desert.
